Friendswood High School Natatorium

Opened in July 2010, the Friendswood ISD High School Natatorium is the culmination of a dream put into action by the swimming community of Friendswood ISD. The 23,000 SF facility is home to the Friendswood High School swim team, water polo and dive teams. For years, the award-winning swim team had to travel off campus to other high schools or to the city pool so that they could practice. They broke numerous records and yet did not have a pool of their own.

This new, freestanding natatorium features a 9,000-square-foot, 8-lane, 25-Yard swimming pool, a movable bulkhead and an 8-lane Daktronics electronic timing and scoreboard system. Water depth ranges from 4-0” to 13’6”. The deep end of the pool has one 1-Meter springboard and one-3-Meter springboard and accommodations for a future platform.

The facility also features portable spectator seating for 215 spectators and can accommodate up to 200 participants. Over-sized locker rooms with restrooms, showers and large dressing areas for both men and women. The FHS Swim Team is not the only group that uses the pool for practice and competition. Every week, there are aerobics classes at the pool along with several swim organizations and clubs.
