Betty Cody Rennell Elementary School

Betty Cody Rennell Elementary School is designed based on a small learning community model as a new district prototype with five student communities of approximately 200 students for each community with centralized science and multipurpose facilities for the student communities to share. Each community of classrooms shares a common community room and teacher work area. The building is also designed with specific daylighting strategies in mind where 95% of all classrooms will have windows for daylighting and views.  Includes cool roof, solar teaching PV array, small learning community design, science area with touch screen learning kiosks tied to building systems usage data, truth walls in science area to see what is inside the walls, view ports to mechanical and electrical and data rooms for instructional use, science teaching gardens.
